Use these special modelling materials to achieve the clever natural effects that will make your miniature world believable.

Hornby Scatter is available in a number of colours and grades to replicate soil, grassland, and other natural land cover. First paint the area with a suitable bas colour with emulsion paint. Then sprinkle the scatter while the paint is still wet (a kitchen sieve or tea strainer is useful here). As with ballast, it is more realistic to vary the colour from place to place.
