R8037 Extra Fine Granite Ballast Scatter

Use these special modelling materials to achieve the clever natural effects that will make your miniature world believable.

Ballast for the track bed is laid down dry and carefully spread until it looks realistic (use a small brush to do this). Keep it away from the moving parts of points. When you are satisfied with the appearance, apply adhesive on top of the ballast drop by drop.

Use a half and half mixture of PVA glue and water, with an added drop of washing up liquid, and apply it with an eye dropper. Vacuum off any loose bits when the glue is dry. Note that ballast looks more realistic when it's not one colour.
