Hornby Freight Rolling Stock

The Hornby wagon selection has something for the majority of periods, regions and goods. There are coal wagons carrying the names of private owners who were either owned or contracted to the pit owners to take coal from the mines to the coal merchants prior to nationalisation.

After that the liveries of the wagons became more austere and plain as can be seen by some of the products shown here. As time progressed the rather plain coal wagons were gradually replaced by the more sophisticated MGR hopper wagons and the impressively modelled Hornby variants are superb examples in detail and appearance of these ubiquitous vehicles.
