| These VEP models have had a factory modification made to the bogies which will correct the occasional derailments that a few customers had experienced with this model that had not been modified.
After refurbishment during the years 1988 - 1990 which included the fitting of fluorescent lights and a public address system amongst other changes the units were reclassified as Class 423/1.
The Hornby example is representative of the relevant unit after the changes and carries the pre-privatisation livery of Network Southeast. |
| Digital DCC Fitted - locomotive has a factory fitted Digital Decoder. We do not recommend that this locomotive is used on a traditional DC operated layout.
